To manage the Adult Day Activities and Community Connections Programs of the Adult Services Department; to manage the staff and oversee all aspects of these programs; to hire, develop, train and lead the staff to effectively support participants with developmental disabilities to become as independent as possible socially and vocationally via social activities and volunteer work at other non-profits in the community.
She or he will display a professional demeanor at all time and possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Clearance with the Department of Justice by completing a background check consisting of having fingerprints processed by appropriate law enforcement agencies. Provide a clean DMV printout and proof of automobile insurance.
POST EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Within 7 business days of employment, physical exam & 2-step Tb test; annual Tb clearance. Maintain all job related certification/training requirements. Complete Abilities United orientation & training.
Ensure health & safety of consumers, personnel & visitors at all times

Manage all aspects of the programs including administrative responsibilities, program design, curriculum & development
Comply as required under section code 15630(a) as mandated reporter
Provide leadership in department and business development
Ensure that all aspects of program are in compliance with Dept. of Labor, Licensing, CARF, Abilities United & other regulatory agencies
Ensure appropriate communication & coordination; work effectively with families, care providers, service coordinators and regional centers
Promote & market all programs within Adult Services to the community, to regional centers, families and other stakeholders
Responsible for program statistics
Ability to do physically demanding work 6 hrs./day (i.e. changing, dressing, lifting & transferring adults up to 250 pounds with assistance)
Develop & monitor program budget
Record and collect all necessary data from progress logs, attendance sheets and spreadsheets and oversee the processing of this information for monthly billing
Ability to drive own automobile
Travel to various worksites as needed
Manage and work with Assistant Manager in carrying out managerial duties as assigned and needed
Promote the mission and vision of the agency by meeting on a regular basis with staff
Supervise community training instructors, program consultants, interns, adult education instructor, and the assistant manager
Ensure that all program & Abilities Uniteds policies & procedures are followed
Develop new services & income streams as appropriate
Promote/market the program to the community
Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained, motivated & recognized
Develop, interpret, monitor & implement program policy & procedures
Complete all required program reports in a timely manner
Responsible for designated staff performance reviews
Adhere to client rights policies & all other Abilities United & program policies & procedures.
Revise client right policies and program policies as needed
Facilitate quarterly and annual meetings with clients families, regional centers, and other stakeholders
Update client database on a regular basis
Promote staff retention
Participate in management, adult services & transition team meetings
Provide direct services to participants as needed
Responsible for staff hiring and training
Fiscal management, i.e. billing, requisitions & purchase of program supplies & equipment
Accountable for overall program safety & quality assurance
Coordinate outside resources
Reconcile all client and staff program accounts
Ability to drive
Ability to assist participants in recreational & daily living skills, incl. kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, etc.
Ability to lift with assistance, persons weighing up to 250 lbs.
Ability to push large adults in wheelchairs
|Qualifications:||Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, Rehabilitation Administration or relevant field required.
Experience: 3 yrs. management, incl. supervisory duties; 2 yrs. working with individuals with developmental disabilities; basic sign language preferred.
br>Certification: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers
Other: Communicate clearly & effectively, verbally & in writing. Project a professional & positive image at all times. Knowledge of current practices and trends in the delivery of service to developmentally disabled persons. Knowledge of the principles of staff supervision and development, program planning and evaluation. Maturity, judgment and skill in interpersonal relations. Proof of valid drivers license, current automobile insurance
