Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY The preschool manager/inclusion specialist position exists in order to supervise and organize the general operations and staffing of the preschool classroom and to ensure the provision of proper inclusion practices. This position is responsible for making sure that the preschool is running smoothly and safely each day with appropriate staffing and curriculum and that licensing standards are maintained. This position also provides a parent contact/liaison should concerns arise related to the preschool.

Duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ensure health & safety of program participants, personnel & visitors at all times
• Ensure a healthy, safe & clean environment
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and agency policies.
• Ensure highest ethical & business practices
• Physical requirements as detailed in job description
• Receive, contact and follow-up on all initial referrals for Milestones
• Schedule observations and trial days for Milestones
• Complete all intake paperwork for new children at Milestones
• Communicate with staff at Milestones regarding all new referrals and intakes
• Knowledge of early intervention service system, IEP process and other relevant referral/resource information
• Provide the training, support and supervision of staff for Preschool, with Director support as needed.
• Responsible for guiding inclusion practices for the program
• Responsible for maintaining classroom schedule for Preschool staff
• Responsible for general supervision and decision making regarding the daily operations of the preschool classroom
• Act as parent liaison and contact to address programmatic issues and concerns that cannot be addressed by staff
• Provide direct service in preschool classroom
• Provide case management services to children & families in program as needed
• Run weekly staff meetings
• Responsible for maintaining licensing compliance for preschool

REQUIREMENTS:
• Promote Children’s Development services and Preschool specifically, in the community
• Communicate relevant information about children & family needs
• Assist in development and monitoring of budget for Preschool
• Complete all required/assigned reports for preschool related to classroom
• Oversee maintenance of client files in compliance with licensing standards
• Case management as detailed under duties
• Act as group leader as detailed under job duties
• Conduct developmental screenings/assessments as detailed under job duties
• Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings
• Provide staff training in areas of expertise
• Other duties as assigned by Program Director

DUTIES
CASE MANAGEMENT
• Document all necessary activities in program files
• Consolidate written information for developmental reports
• Participate in any meetings regarding the child including:
o IFSP meetings
o Parent conferences
o 6 month parent conferences
o Programmatic meetings

GROUP LEADER/group responsibilities
• Plan curriculum
• Lead circle
• Delegate duties to staff for the group
• Set up room/stations for the session
• Ensure cleanliness of room at end of session

DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS
• Complete screenings/assessments in a timely manner
• Write developmental backgrounds & reports for individual children

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to provide direct services to children, incl floor activities. sitting, kneeling, crawling, etc.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to Drive

Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Education: BA in ECE with at least 2 years experience working and managing staff in an inclusion program or MA in Early Childhood Special Education, child development or related field, and experience working and managing staff in an inclusion program .

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years working in an inclusion preschool or daycare setting required, as well as experience directly managing and/or supervising staff.

OTHER:
Communicate clearly & effectively, verbally and in writing. Project a professional & positive image at all times; ability to interface effectively with all levels throughout the organization. Must have good working knowledge of typical/atypical child development and be comfortable providing assessment & age levels for children. Have knowledge of proposed and current federal and state legislation pertaining to early childhood development. Have a valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance coverage.

PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Clearance with the Department of Justice by completing a background check consisting of having fingerprints processed by appropriate law enforcement agencies (paid for by Abilities United)
Provide clean DMV printout during interview process. Proof of valid driver’s license & copy of auto insurance liability coverage.

POST EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Physical, 2-step Tb test and physical examination. Maintain all job related certification requirements.
